Engineering Manager, Compiler & Runtime (AI)

Salary: $200K–$400K, plus equity

hirify.global is an applied AI company developing foundational hardware and software for the semiconductor industry, AI infrastructure, and systems computing in partnership with advanced institutions. Its hardware performs memory-bound large-model inference inside memory, supported by compiler and runtime software for PyTorch models.

What you will do

• Build and lead the compiler and runtime team, hire its first engineers, set the hiring bar, and support engineers’ growth and careers.
• Translate the Systems Software roadmap into plans, milestones, and staffing for the compiler, runtime, and kernel work.
• Partner with the senior compiler architect on technical decisions, design reviews, trade-offs, staffing, and delivery.
• Coordinate with hardware teams responsible for drivers and firmware, as well as serving and simulation teams that depend on the compiler and runtime.
• Maintain software development across simulators, FPGA prototypes, and future silicon while the hardware matures.
• Establish testing, release, and review practices needed to deliver a reliable customer-facing software stack.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineers who build compilers, runtimes, or kernels for accelerators or other non-standard hardware.
• Track record of hiring and mentoring strong systems engineers.
• Enough depth in compilers and runtimes to review designs and evaluate technical trade-offs with senior engineers.
• Experience delivering software against a hardware schedule, from simulation through bring-up.
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art ML compiler stacks and LLM inference workloads.

Nice to have

• Experience taking an accelerator software stack from zero to production at a startup or new hardware initiative.
• Experience with in-memory compute, processing-in-memory, or analog hardware interfaces.
• Experience shipping an SDK or software product to external customers.
