Associate Data Engineer (AI)

Location: São Paulo, Brazil; hybrid work from the Itaim Bibi office 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and integration scripts for Operations using Databricks, SQL, Python, and Git.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, and iterate on AI-powered workflows, automation systems, and agentic development solutions.
• Collaborate with non-technical business partners to understand operational pain points, translate business logic into technical requirements, and deliver automated solutions.
• Monitor, audit, and maintain data integrity and workflow reliability across connected operational systems.
• Map workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement automations that reduce manual overhead.

Requirements

• Recent graduate or early-career professional in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Applied Math, or a related technical field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of programming logic, SQL, Python, and version control with Git.
• Hands-on project or academic experience with Databricks or PySpark/data-processing environments.
• Experience or high comfort using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex as a primary way to write, refactor, and accelerate code development.
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical solutions clearly to non-technical business teams.
• Advanced or fluent English and the ability to work hybrid from the São Paulo office 3 days per week.
• Curiosity, proactivity, initiative, and comfort solving complex logical problems in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
• Ability to connect technical implementation with business context and use technology and AI to automate repetitive problems.
