Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/Azure)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States. Only local candidates will be considered; U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting software development and deployment.
• Manage AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, system management, and other operational processes across development, QA, and UAT environments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot environment-related issues and defects, and support successful release cycles.
• Improve the security, reliability, scalability, and efficiency of infrastructure and applications.
• Collaborate with software engineering, QA, and Operations teams on version control, build automation, containerization, and DevOps best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of related experience required. A degree may be replaced by 11 years of related experience, including experience designing and managing scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure and CI/CD workflows.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder and a local candidate.
• Deep understanding of AWS and Azure cloud service models and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD; Docker; and Kubernetes.
• Strong Bash and Python scripting skills for automation and tooling.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK Stack, or other application performance monitoring tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and repository management.
• Experience managing Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, PowerShell, Linux, networking, DNS, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, secrets management, and secure software delivery pipelines; experience with microservices architecture and service meshes such as Istio.
• Effective cross-functional communication, analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
• Ability to remain stationary and view computer monitors continuously. No travel is required.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer certification.
