Senior Product Manager (Payments)

Location: Hybrid schedule requiring two days of in-office collaboration per week at the San Francisco office, 130 Sutter Street, San Francisco, California, United States.

Base pay: $140,000–$185,000. Total compensation also includes bonus, benefits, and perks; the stated range covers base pay only.

What you will do

• Own the global commerce platform covering client payment methods, booking payments, Tasker payouts, and earnings across all operating markets.
• Improve payment experiences by launching payment methods, increasing booking conversion, reducing payout delays, and removing checkout friction.
• Investigate payment issues end to end, including declines, delayed payouts, and discrepancies with Finance data, using available tools including AI tools.
• Plan, sequence, and deliver initiatives with the engineering lead while balancing user improvements, cost reduction, compliance, and platform health.
• Prioritize work with limited team capacity and clearly communicate trade-offs and decisions.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, Legal, and senior leadership on problems, roadmaps, and outcomes.

Requirements

• Deep experience building B2C payments products, including payment processor integrations, payment methods such as PayPal, BNPL, or SEPA, and payouts.
• Strong knowledge of the payments landscape and the ability to lead independently from day one; global payments experience is strongly preferred in the source.
• Understanding of how payment experiences affect user behavior and business outcomes, including conversion, retention, authorization rates, decline rates, and cost.
• Ability to investigate user payment problems to their root causes and use AI tools to query data and understand system behavior; coding or SQL expertise is not required.
• Understanding of payment systems such as authorization and capture flows, ledgers, reconciliation, and processor and bank interactions, or willingness to learn the backend setup in detail.
• Strong prioritization and trade-off decision-making skills, including the ability to say no and focus teams on high-impact work.
• Experience building trust with cross-functional partners and working with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal teams.
• Strong execution and written and verbal communication skills, with willingness to remove blockers and work hands-on when needed.
