Associate Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California; hybrid office expectation with up to 20% travel to customer sites. Hub cities include New York City and Mountain View.

What you will do

• Deliver production-grade data and AI systems and reference architectures on the platform.
• Support enterprise customers through transformational projects from prototype to production deployment.
• Contribute to secure, scalable, full-stack architecture and design decisions.
• Embed with customer teams to understand technical and business challenges and deliver measurable impact.
• Collaborate with senior forward deployed engineers, engineering, customer support, project managers, architects, and customer teams.
• Manage technical scope and timelines while growing toward end-to-end delivery ownership.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or data platforms and analytics.
• Strong full-stack software engineering skills with proficiency in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript, including back-end services, APIs, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Solid computer science fundamentals covering data structures, algorithms, testing, and version control.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP; alternatively, a strong desire to develop cloud expertise quickly.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and interest in production data architectures, MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Excellent communication skills and genuine interest in customer-facing engineering work.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to explore technologies supporting the deployment and integration of platform-based solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Spark or distributed data processing.
• Databricks Certification, which can also be obtained after joining.
