Natural Gas Trading Analyst (AI)

Location: Calgary, AB, Canada; office-based role

What you will do

• Support senior traders with structuring, booking, pricing, and executing physical natural gas trades, financial derivatives, storage, and transport leases.
• Manage the ongoing risk of trading positions and contribute to desk- and portfolio-level risk and P&L reporting.
• Build and maintain fundamental market balances and tactical infrastructure for covered markets.
• Conduct in-depth research on commodity markets, monitor market events and trends, and communicate findings succinctly to salespeople and clients.
• Interact with clients and control functions while supporting the broader natural gas trading business.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience applying or integrating AI tools and models, as well as basic Python skills.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
