2027 Construction Project Management Intern-1 (HVAC)

Location: Ashland, Virginia, United States; On-site 5 days per week. This posting also notes that some opportunities may be remote, hybrid, or onsite across North America, but this position is listed as onsite.

Hourly base pay: $22.80–$28.35.

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate assigned construction projects, including schedules, project parameters, tasks, estimates, dependencies, milestones, Critical Path Method analysis, and histogram analysis.
• Work with engineering teams on programming and material selection activities related to projects.
• Establish and maintain project operations budgets, revise estimates based on validated scope, and monitor forecasted costs and expenses.
• Prepare subcontractor requests for quotations, including scope statements, plans, milestone dates, specifications, bonding requirements, and billing schedules of values.
• Receive and qualify subcontractor proposals and assist with supervising assigned project staff, subcontractors, and installers.
• Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, owners, and internal team members about project scope, budgets, performance, close-out, problems, and information needs.

Requirements

• Be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree throughout the entire summer internship. Construction Engineering, Building Management, Construction Management, HVAC, Engineering, or an equivalent degree is preferred.
• Have completed at least the sophomore year or second year before the internship begins.
• Demonstrate knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods through coursework, projects, construction-focused groups, related work, or volunteering.
• Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• Hold a valid driver’s license for at least 12 months and provide proof of insurance.
• Have no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless or careless driving, or multiple smaller infractions during the previous three years.
