Financial Analyst

Location: New York, New York / Remote; US work authorization and employment eligibility verification required.

Target annual salary for work performed in the US: $70,000–$90,000.

What you will do

• Maintain, scrub, organize, and validate large financial records across ledgers and reporting systems.
• Perform weekly and monthly bank, revenue, and crypto-balance reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare and review pre-close items and support complex month-end close processes.
• Assist with financial modeling, profitability analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Automate reporting and reconciliation workflows using Excel macros, Python, SQL, Google Apps Script, or other automation tools.
• Support ad hoc management and investor requests, year-end audit work, and tax reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, plus 1–2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and accruals.
• Minimum GPA of 3.6.
• Proficiency with Excel, including data manipulation and hands-on financial process automation.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies in financial data.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to identify tasks, take ownership, and complete work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Collaborative attitude and readiness to handle new operational challenges.
