Instructional Coach (Science)

Location: Based in any major Australian capital city; based in Melbourne or work from home if located elsewhere. Regular travel to schools across the state is required.

What you will do

• Build relationships with Heads of Science, principals, and school leadership to support implementation, retention, and continued value.
• Run implementation meetings, agree on an annual Science Teaching Excellence Framework focus, and prepare teachers to use Stile confidently.
• Design and deliver professional learning through Demo Lessons, state roadshows, in-person and virtual sessions, Stile Academy, and centralised professional learning days.
• Teach full days of regular science classes in partner schools while faculty members observe, then lead evidence-based debriefs and coaching conversations.
• Hold data review meetings three times per year with each school, using usage reports and framework rubrics to create improvement plans.
• Share school feedback with product and content teams to help shape future materials and platform development.

Requirements

• Experienced science teacher with strong classroom credibility and the ability to teach secondary science lessons that other teachers can model.
• Experience developing other teachers’ practice through specific, usable, and supportive feedback.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with teachers, school leaders, principals, and faculties.
• Comfort using usage reports and framework rubrics to identify clear next steps.
• Ability to organise and manage an independent schedule across a state, including meetings, professional learning, numerous schools, and frequent travel.
• Knowledge of evidence-based pedagogy, including explicit instruction, retrieval practice, and literacy in science.
• Comfort working in front of principals and taking initiative without waiting to be asked.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching secondary science.
• Previous experience as a Head of Science, instructional coach, or learning specialist.
• Experience teaching with Stile.
• Customer success or account management experience.
