Health and Safety Specialist (OHS)

Location: Szczecin, Poland; onsite role supporting operations in Poland.

What you will do

• Identify workplace hazards, conduct occupational risk assessments for workstations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and deliver mandatory initial OHS training for employees in line with the Polish Labour Code.
• Investigate occupational accidents, near misses, and occupational diseases, preparing required documentation and reports.
• Cooperate with the National Labour Inspectorate and other supervisory authorities, and implement recommendations from OHS inspections and audits.
• Advise management and employees on workplace safety, ergonomics, and hygiene while working cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and HR.
• Promote OHS, fire safety, ethical, and corporate policy compliance; respond to emergencies and lead emergency response teams.

Requirements

• Qualifications required under applicable Polish legislation for a Health and Safety Specialist, including education and professional experience within the OHS service.
• At least one year of professional occupational health and safety experience, preferably in logistics or manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of Polish labour law, especially occupational health and safety regulations and regulations governing the OHS service.
• Experience conducting OHS audits and inspections, analysing safety indicators, and preparing reports.
• Experience developing and delivering comprehensive OHS training programmes for employees at different levels.
• Ability to prepare OHS documentation, maintain registers, report incidents according to legal requirements, and use digital OHS tools.
• Communicative English and knowledge of Polish are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of international OHS management standards, particularly ISO 45001, with practical implementation experience.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, especially REACH, safe chemical storage, Safety Data Sheet review, and waste management.
• Knowledge and practical experience in fire safety, including evacuation drills and preventive inspections.
• Formal qualification as a fire safety inspector.
