Insights & Decisions Analyst (Banking)

What you will do

• Gather and document analytical requirements, business questions, metrics, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze commercial performance across revenue, profitability, customer behavior, product adoption, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop forecasts, scenario models, sensitivity analyses, dashboards, and automated reporting workflows using Databricks, SQL, and Python notebooks.
• Present findings, assumptions, uncertainty, and evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders, including C-level executives.
• Define consistent commercial, product, and operational metrics; validate data quality and partner with Engineering to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain analytical code and documentation in source control, assess initiatives against expected outcomes, and prioritize competing requests.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data analysis, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and compelling stories.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to connect analysis to revenue, profitability, growth, and operational efficiency.
• Experience analyzing commercial performance and developing forecasts for business planning.
• Ability to gather requirements, clarify ambiguous questions, and translate stakeholder needs into analytical deliverables.
• Confident communication with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives, and ability to explain complex findings with practical recommendations.
• Independent problem-solving with incomplete information, sound judgment when handling sensitive commercial and customer information, and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Ability to manage competing requests, stakeholder expectations, and agreed deadlines.
• Strong SQL skills and practical Databricks experience; Python experience developing and maintaining reproducible analytical notebooks.
• Experience extracting, combining, and analyzing complex datasets; applying forecasting, statistical analysis, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis; producing dashboards; using Git or GitHub; validating data; automating workflows; and documenting data lineage, assumptions, and limitations.

Nice to have

• Experience in banking, payments, financial services, or another regulated environment.
• Experience partnering with Product, Technology, Finance, and Commercial teams.
• Familiarity with RAG, large language models, embeddings, and vector search, including practical applications and limitations.
