Lead, People Operations – France (Functional Lead)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid working. Full-time or part-time arrangements of 80–90% may be considered.

What you will do

• Design, standardize, and optimize French employee lifecycle operations, including onboarding, contract amendments, internal mobility, leave, and exits.
• Own French People Operations compliance and act as the Paris-based subject-matter authority for French HR administration.
• Own the French HRIS function, including employee data integrity, workflow configuration, system cleanups, and reporting pipelines for Finance and Leadership.
• Structure, calculate, and validate monthly payroll variables, leave data, and statutory elements for the French payroll provider and internal Finance teams.
• Lead operational integration of newly acquired French teams by auditing personnel files, aligning contract data, and harmonizing operational cadences.
• Draft French employment contracts, audit leave accruals, calculate solde de tout compte documentation, and resolve employee queries.

Requirements

• Proven experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or HR Administration within a fast-moving technology, fintech, or scaling corporate environment.
• Comprehensive hands-on expertise in French labor administration, contract types, statutory leaves, employee lifecycle compliance, and standard collective agreement application such as Syntec or equivalent.
• Advanced working knowledge of modern HRIS platforms such as Lucca, HiBob, Personio, or Workday, workflow automation, and spreadsheet data validation.
• Experience structuring monthly payroll inputs, understanding gross-to-net variables, and managing payroll cut-off cadences in France.
• Ability to take personal accountability for deliverables and combine process architecture with hands-on operational execution as an individual contributor.
• Experience auditing, cleaning, and migrating employee data during entity integrations, mergers, or system transitions.
• French proficiency and full professional working proficiency in English.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity, establishing playbooks, and exercising sound judgment under fast turnaround times.
