Commodity Manager (Supply Chain)

What you will do

• Create, execute, and manage commodity strategies aligned with quality, cost, delivery, and customer-service objectives.
• Lead a commodity team in supply-chain optimization, supplier qualification, sourcing, resourcing, outsourcing, and negotiations.
• Lead global procurement of materials, services, and freight for development, NPI, and mass-production requirements.
• Build supplier relationships, coordinate supplier visits and audits, assess performance gaps, and implement continuous-improvement activities.
• Collaborate with product management, production planning, manufacturing, and design engineering on sourcing, new technologies, technical issues, inventory targets, and business objectives.
• Develop procurement policies, procedures, systems, global supply agreements, KPIs, and reports using SAP, Excel, and analytics software; manage SAP procurement modules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Engineering is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 10 years in purchasing or supply chain.
• Minimum 5 years of strategic supplier-sourcing analysis and execution experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working within and between ERP systems, with SAP preferred, and analytics software such as PowerBI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Broad understanding of supply management and assigned commodities, including the ability to act as a subject-matter resource and contribute to strategic direction.
• Expert-level Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel; strong data-analytics capability and experience consolidating large amounts of data for business decisions.
• Strong interpersonal, persuasion, influencing, collaboration, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, work within broad guidelines, meet strict deadlines, lead cross-business-unit and cross-functional teams, and solve complex supply problems.
• Strong technical and business knowledge of buying and sourcing in relevant segments, including electrical commodities, machined parts, sheet metal, mechanical assemblies, optical components and assemblies, plastics, and ceramics.

Nice to have

• APICS or CPM certification.
