Engineering Manager – Enterprise Data Engineering

What you will do

• Lead, coach and grow an enterprise data engineering team, including performance management, recruitment and succession planning.
• Translate enterprise roadmaps into delivery plans, manage capacity and priorities, and report progress, risks and dependencies to stakeholders.
• Provide technical direction for secure batch and streaming ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, transformations and enterprise integrations.
• Drive maintainable data engineering practices across Snowflake, Databricks, Python/PySpark, SQL, dbt and orchestration technologies.
• Own production readiness, reliability, observability, data freshness, quality, lineage, access controls and operational support.
• Partner with platform, architecture, security, governance, analytics, AI/ML, application and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of people management or engineering leadership experience.
• 8+ years of software, data platform or data engineering experience with production-grade enterprise data solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, ETL/ELT, data warehousing and lakehouse patterns, dimensional modelling, data contracts and reusable data products.
• Practical experience with SQL and Python, plus familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, PySpark and dbt or comparable transformation frameworks.
• Experience with orchestration, API or file-based integrations, cloud services, Git-based development, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience operating business-critical pipelines and managing stakeholders, delivery dependencies, incidents, data quality, security and performance.

Nice to have

• Enterprise Finance or Supply Chain data experience, including SAP and planning-system integrations.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, master data, privacy classification or regulated datasets.
• Experience enabling analytics, machine learning or AI-ready data products and using AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams and large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.
