Senior Principal Cyber Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: USA_VA_Onsite; onsite role with up to 25% travel to CONUS and OCONUS customer facilities.

Base salary: $210,400–$234,700 USD per year, plus bonus plans and benefits.

What you will do

• Install, configure, integrate, and deploy Cross Domain solutions to support customer requirements and secure data transfer.
• Engage directly with customers to perform advanced solution design, analysis, implementation, training, troubleshooting, and technical briefings.
• Work hands-on in Linux-based environments and resolve onsite technical issues.
• Design and implement networking capabilities including failover, co-op, load balancing, and interoperability with enterprise components.
• Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
• Provide onsite and remote customer support and travel to customer facilities as required.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance.
• 15+ years of experience in a cyber engineer role supporting enterprise software solutions.
• Advanced experience with Linux and scripting.
• Advanced software development experience using procedural programming languages.
• Interest or experience in cybersecurity practices, methodologies, associated technologies, application design and development, and/or operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and routers.
• Strong knowledge of programming logic and methodologies, including regular expressions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to customers and laypersons.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or an equivalent qualification; DODI 8570.1-M compliance at IAT Level I is required. SANS GSEC and CISSP are preferred within this requirement.

Nice to have

• Advanced experience with security design and architecture of Cross Domain solutions.
• Working knowledge of virtualized, networked environments, specifically VMware and Hyper-V.
• Strong verbal and technical writing skills.
• Experience integrating security COTS products such as firewalls, web gateways, and Data Loss Prevention solutions.
• Experience preparing documentation for Assessment and Authorization activities.
• Knowledge of current Information Assurance policies applied to the architecture and design of secure customer solutions.
