Incident Response Sr. Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: USA - Remote; ability to travel on short notice, up to 30% of the time.

Base salary: $115,000–$160,000 per year for U.S. candidates, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Lead incident response engagements and conduct intrusion investigations under the direction of outside counsel.
• Develop and apply methods to hunt for bad actors across large data sets.
• Perform host and network forensics across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.
• Conduct basic malware analysis and create remediation recommendations for compromised organizations.
• Prepare written and verbal reports, presentations, recommendations, and findings for customer management, regulators, and legal counsel.
• Demonstrate industry thought leadership through blog posts, CrowdCasts, and public speaking events.

Requirements

• Experience in one or more of the following: team leadership in a matrixed consulting environment; incident response investigations involving targeted threats such as advanced persistent threats, organized crime, and hacktivists; computer forensic analysis; network forensic analysis; reverse engineering and static or dynamic malware analysis; incident remediation; secure network architecture and network operations; or cloud incident response using AWS, Azure, or GCP methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, network analysis tools such as Bro/Zeek or Suricata, and associated network logs, where applicable to the candidate’s experience.
• Strong ability to communicate executive-level and detailed findings to clients and communicate tasks, guidance, and methodology to internal teams.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
• Ability to complete technical tasks without supervision and strong project management skills.
• Desire to grow and expand technical and soft skills.
• Contributing thought leadership within the incident response industry and ability to foster a positive work environment and attitude.
• Ability to travel on short notice, up to 30% of the time.
• BA or BS, or MA or MS, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Information Security, Information Assurance, Information Security Management, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Policy, or a related field. Applicants without a degree may be considered with relevant work experience and/or training.
