Infrastructure Storage Engineer (NetApp)

Location: Hybrid, with regular onsite presence at the Chandler, Arizona facility; primary location listed as Phoenix, Arizona, United States.

Annual salary: $100,550–$194,270 USD.

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, optimize, and manage NetApp NAS platforms, SAN, SDS, object storage, and backup solutions.
• Design scalable storage services for bare-metal, virtualized, containerized, cloud, engineering, OpenShift, and AI infrastructure environments.
• Manage provisioning, replication, data protection, performance, capacity, lifecycle activities, and high availability.
• Lead storage modernization, migration, automation, and infrastructure documentation initiatives.
• Monitor utilization and performance, troubleshoot storage issues, and protect data integrity.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, networking, cloud, DevOps, and software engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise storage environments.
• Strong hands-on experience administering NetApp ONTAP, including NAS services, data protection, and storage lifecycle management.
• In-depth knowledge of NAS, SAN, SDS, and object storage, including configuration, tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with NFS, SMB/CIFS, S3, Fibre Channel, and iSCSI.
• Experience with SnapMirror, SnapVault, Snapshot, FlexVol, FlexGroup, and Storage Virtual Machines.
• Experience with enterprise SAN platforms such as PowerMax or similar arrays, enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam and SnapVault, and on-premises storage in physical and virtualized environments.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud integration and automation using Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and REST APIs.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, collaboration, and technical communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetApp AFF, FAS, ASA, and related platforms.
• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and NetApp Trident.
• Experience with Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, or other enterprise backup solutions.
• Experience with Dell EMC PowerMax, Dell ECS Object Storage, and enterprise SAN platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Strong background in data protection, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience supporting AI/ML, engineering compute, or high-performance storage workloads.
