Staff Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Turbomachinery)

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $77,264–$115,896 per year.

What you will do

• Execute engineering analyses supporting customer project execution and standard turbomachinery packaging offerings.
• Contribute to the design, validation, and execution of packaging solutions.
• Develop structural analysis expertise using classical calculation methods, RISA-3D, and ANSYS.
• Specialize in two or more mechanical analysis disciplines and develop subject-matter expertise with senior engineer support.
• Work cross-functionally with engineers to define project details and deliver required tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• 0–3 years of engineering experience.
• Experience using CAD software such as Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, or SpaceClaim.
• Strong ability with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Excel Macros using VBA, Python, MATLAB, or a similar programming language.
• Strong fundamental understanding of mechanical design.
• Willingness to learn, aptitude for applying complex subjects, strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and ability to meet deadlines.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of turbomachinery system applications, design, and operations.
• Experience with ANSYS, RISA-3D, and SpaceClaim.
• Basic understanding of vibration analysis.
• Ability to work well with others, lead smaller development efforts, self-initiate, maintain a positive attitude, meet deadlines with urgency, and communicate ideas clearly.
