Senior Radar Engineer (Automotive Radar)

Location: Foster City, California, United States. On-site.

Base salary: $199,999–$271,000 per year. Additional compensation may include Amazon RSUs, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, and a possible sign-on bonus.

Zoox is developing a fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem for urban mobility-as-a-service at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and design.

What you will do

• Translate stakeholder needs into measurable radar requirements and test plans.
• Define and document radar requirements.
• Define and conduct radar testing to support radar selection and future roadmaps.

Requirements

• M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Signal Processing.
• 5+ years of experience in radar development and testing.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Git/GitHub, and AI tools.
• Understanding of typical automotive radar working principles, such as FMCW.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting radar issues involving both hardware and software.
• Experience integrating radar systems and concepts into ML-based autonomy software.

Nice to have

• Experience with numerical, electromagnetic, or system simulation of radar performance and integration.
• Experience with systems engineering workflows and requirements development.
