Senior Manager, Provider Contracting (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid Flex in Durham, North Carolina; candidates must live in North Carolina. The role requires working in the office at least two days a week, with limited travel within North Carolina.

Salary: $130,560–$208,896 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead a team managing assessment, development, negotiation, implementation, and oversight of complex provider reimbursement initiatives.
• Develop and implement innovative provider network strategies with integrated healthcare delivery systems, hospital systems, academic medical centers, and multispecialty providers.
• Lead direct provider negotiations and executive-level relationships with key healthcare providers.
• Drive next-generation provider network opportunities, gain approvals, and implement approved strategies through provider contracts.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including BCBSA and vendors, and assign people and technology resources for strategic initiatives.
• Develop feasibility models and forecast the performance and medical expense impact of contracting strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree where required, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with high-complexity provider contracting and various reimbursement models, including value-based and pay-for-performance models.
• Executive-level provider relationship experience.
• Understanding of financial modeling and cost-of-care impacts.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams within a health plan.

Nice to have

• Prior people-leader experience managing teams of 5–10 people.
• Experience managing contract dollars of more than $5 billion.
