Systems Engineer VI - Systems

Location: Reno, NV; Folsom, CA; or Remote-USA. Travel up to 10–15%, including possible overnights for customer reviews and test events. U.S. Citizenship required, and an active DoD Secret Clearance must be held or obtainable and maintainable. ITAR compliance is required.

Base salary: $161,000–$279,000 USD annually. California pay range: $169,490–$279,160 USD. Nevada pay range: $161,016–$265,202 USD. Incentive plan eligible.

What you will do

• Serve as the site technical authority for systems engineering across multiple defense programs and establish organizational standards, processes, and best practices.
• Define requirements management, traceability, verification, validation, MDA compliance, and CDRL development strategies.
• Govern system architecture, functional allocations, interface standards, compliance reporting, technical baselines, change control, and configuration management.
• Lead cross-domain technical integration with propulsion, software, hardware, GNC, and test disciplines.
• Own multi-program risk management and lead formal reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
• Provide MBSE leadership, liaise with customers and suppliers, and mentor junior and mid-level systems engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM field with 15 years of systems engineering or related experience; or a master’s degree in a related STEM field with 13 years of experience; or 19 years of systems engineering or related experience in lieu of a degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. Citizenship and compliance with ITAR regulations.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• Deep familiarity with MDA processes, CDRL development, and systems engineering lifecycle standards.
• Expert-level proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
• Authoritative knowledge of the INCOSE SE Handbook and MIL-STD-499.
• Significant experience applying MBSE principles with SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of DoDAF/UAF architecture frameworks and digital engineering environments.
• Experience leading Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) analyses at enterprise and program levels.
