Space Systems MBSE Engineer (Secret Clearance)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; hybrid with at least 2–3 days per week on site, with additional on-site days possible for meetings and schedules. U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government Secret clearance are required.

Salary: $147,000–$196,000–$215,600 annually for California positions.

What you will do

• Create, integrate, and apply interdisciplinary digital models and systems engineering products across the system lifecycle.
• Develop technical specifications, interface definitions, and system architectures for an integrated Medium Earth Orbit space and ground system.
• Apply MBSE and systems engineering expertise to solve complex integration problems and guide system development.
• Support design reviews, technical evaluations, requirements verification, and related systems engineering and program management activities.
• Identify technical risks, develop recommendations, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with government stakeholders and contractor teammates on solutions.
• Mentor and supervise team members performing systems engineering and digital model development.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 8+ years of experience with large-scale missions, systems engineering, and integration.
• 8+ years of experience performing systems engineering analysis and developing systems engineering products for DoD or government systems.
• 3+ years of MBSE experience developing technical specifications, interface control documents, and system architecture.
• Experience using digital engineering tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw, SparxEA, DOORS, or IBM Rhapsody.
• Ability to perform multiple systems engineering and program management functions supporting design reviews and requirements verification.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical risks and issues; develop technical reports; and collaborate with government and other stakeholders.
• Ability to establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, and associate contractor teammates.

• TS/SCI clearance.
• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• OMG Certified Systems Model Professional certification.
• INCOSE Systems Engineering certification.
• Experience with Model-Based Verification and Validation.
• Experience with MATLAB, STK, ModelCenter, or TeamCenter.
• Experience translating system requirements into designs.
• Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language and DoD Architecture Framework.
