Senior Full Stack Engineer (Vue.js/Nuxt.js)

Location: Miami, US; Remote. Not available in California, New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania. Requires availability for at least 5-6 hours overlapping an 8-5 or 9-6 MST schedule.

Salary: $90-$120 per hour.

What you will do

• Assess the existing production codebase for security vulnerabilities, scalability and performance bottlenecks, architecture risks, data protection concerns, and reliability issues, then implement improvements for a safe and stable public launch.
• Take ownership of the platform's architecture, technical health, stability, security, scalability, reliability, production readiness, and continued evolution.
• Own features end to end, from data modeling and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Work across the full stack with a strong backend focus and hands-on Vue.js frontend development.
• Review outside engineering partners' architecture, code, testing, security, scalability, and production readiness, while coordinating knowledge transfer with the existing platform engineer.
• Own technical operations, monitoring, incident response, release readiness, technical QA, functional/regression/load/smoke testing, and production issue escalation.

Requirements

• 8 to 12+ years of software engineering experience, including strong production experience with Vue.js and deep hands-on experience with relational database design.
• Proven experience owning significant portions of a production platform across backend architecture, databases, APIs and integrations, infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Proven experience assessing production applications for security, scalability, reliability, and performance risks, identifying vulnerabilities, protecting sensitive customer data, diagnosing bottlenecks, and implementing pragmatic improvements.
• Strong backend engineering depth and the technical judgment to understand an existing system holistically and take responsibility for its architecture and technical health.
• Experience reviewing and validating engineers' or external development partners' architecture decisions, code quality, testing, security, scalability, and production readiness.
• Ability to contribute within an existing codebase and technical direction, identify material risks, and make pragmatic improvements rather than unnecessary rewrites.
• Experience owning production readiness, including monitoring, incident troubleshooting, release processes, technical QA, and resolving critical production issues.
• Proven experience using AI coding agents on a production codebase without replacing engineering judgment.
• Ability to operate independently, stay highly organized, and make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience owning entire features and systems from architecture and data modeling through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support.

Nice to have

• PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience with Nuxt and Prisma.
• Background in regulated industries or high-volume e-commerce, especially with sensitive customer data, compliance requirements, high transaction volumes, and many concurrent users.
• Production experience with AI/LLM architecture, including RAG, agents, context management, model integrations, or similar systems.
