Vice President, Product Management (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, U.S. based; may require 25% travel.

Target pay range: $225,000–$265,000 per year, dependent on skills, experience, competencies, and location.

What you will do

• Define and communicate the multi-year product vision, strategy, roadmap, investment priorities, and tradeoffs across the product portfolio.
• Own portfolio investment allocation, initiative sizing, return on investment, product intelligence, recurring business reviews, and capability consolidation.
• Lead the evolution of a configurable, reusable platform with shared services, secure identity, interoperability, and data foundations.
• Guide identity capabilities including SSO, OAuth, OIDC, RBAC, and multifactor authentication, and partner on FHIR, SMART on FHIR, HL7, EHR integrations, and partner APIs.
• Ensure products address HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, the 21st Century Cures Act, and other applicable interoperability and compliance requirements.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, and develop product directors and managers while partnering with Engineering, Design, Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, Marketing, customers, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in product management, solution architecture, or health information technology, including 5+ years leading product teams and product leaders.
• Experience leading a large, multi-team product portfolio in healthcare, health plans, or health IT, with accountability for investment, outcomes, and financial results.
• Technical depth to engage with architects on platform, identity, and API strategy.
• Production experience delivering interoperability capabilities such as FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR applications, or EHR integrations.
• Experience building or scaling a platform that enables independent teams to deliver a consistent experience.
• Understanding of health-data regulation, including HIPAA and the 21st Century Cures Act.
• Experience introducing product operating practices and making them sustainable.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with executives, boards, and customer leadership.
• Comfort presenting to large audiences, teaching, developing others, and working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Commitment to social impact initiatives and helping underserved communities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Health, or a related field; a master’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience serving special populations, such as Medicaid members, foster youth, or people receiving LTSS.
• Experience with CIAM platforms such as Ping Identity or Okta.
• Background in clinical informatics or clinical decision support.
• Experience applying AI to product operations, portfolio management, or the product itself.
• Experience in a project-funded organization moving toward a product operating model.
• Published research, industry conference presentations, or teaching experience in health information technology or health administration.
