MSS Developer Engineer (Palantir)

Location: On-site at Camp H.M. Smith, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States; must work onsite in a SCIF. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active Secret clearance and must be able to obtain and maintain higher-level clearances, including TS/SCI, when required by assignment.

Salary: $135,000–$165,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and maintain operator-facing dashboards, applications, decision surfaces, self-service capabilities, and automated workflows for J7 mission workflows.
• Develop data pipelines, ontology, access controls, integrations, and data foundations on MSS and the Palantir stack.
• Translate analytical requirements from mission leaders into technical solutions and ensure AI/AIP outputs are operationally useful.
• Create data visualizations, interactive scenario-exploration tools, alerting systems, monitoring, KPIs, and success metrics.
• Optimize data models, queries, caching, aggregation, reporting, dashboards, and applications for growing data volumes and user bases.
• Provide operator support, document data sources and analytical methodologies, contribute reusable platform content, and support validation of the FDE&T model for potential expansion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a quantitative discipline; extensive Palantir experience may substitute.
• At least 4 years of software or data engineering experience, including data analysis or data science experience where applicable, with at least 1.5 years of hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, Gotham, AIP, or MSS.
• Demonstrated experience building dashboards, applications, or pipelines for operational end users.
• Working proficiency in ontology design and pipeline authoring using PySpark, Code Repositories, or Pipeline Builder.
• Active U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain required higher-level clearances are required.
• Ability to work onsite in a SCIF.

Nice to have

• Prior Palantir FDE, FDSE, or comparable customer-embedded experience.
• Hands-on MSS experience, AIP agent experience, or exposure to large language model workflows.
• Familiarity with DoD data environments and classified networks.
• Prior Combatant Command support.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript.
