Lead Data Engineer (AWS/Oracle)

Location: Remote within the United States; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Salary: $115,000–$150,000 annually, with a possible annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the development and delivery of data solutions using AWS and/or Oracle technologies.
• Enhance business intelligence, data services, reporting, analytics, and modeling for financial, product, customer, user, and third-party data.
• Manage and monitor cloud data platform performance, efficiency, reliability, and daily runbook SLAs.
• Design parallel-processing ETL solutions, Informatica mappings, UNIX workflow wrappers, and housekeeping processes.
• Design integrations and data models including fact dimensions, aggregations, star schemas, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements, provide end-to-end SDLC guidance, and create solution design documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of data engineering experience using Informatica/IICS, Oracle DB and packages, AWS data services and platforms such as Athena with Iceberg, Lambda, EMR, and Glue, Databricks, and scripting languages such as Python, Scala, Java, or Node.
• 5+ years of experience with OCI, AWS, and Azure cloud data technologies.
• 1+ years of UNIX shell scripting experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial and operational data, including Oracle ERP Sales, Oracle DB, data warehousing, data lakes, data modeling, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Agile/Kanban, cloud solution architecture, ETL specifications, Informatica transformations, and technical documentation.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and deliverables.

Nice to have

• Publication or education domain experience.
• Familiarity with Tableau or Alteryx.
• Experience with financial data such as sales, revenue, COGS, and manufacturing data.
• Experience with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1).
