Accountant II (Lease Accounting)

Location: Remote USA; remote hiring is available in AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT.

What you will do

• Maintain lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develop an end-to-end understanding of lease accounting processes, stakeholders, systems, and internal controls supporting internal and external reporting.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly analyses and related journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve variances.
• Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance.
• Complete special projects and analyses and assess the impact of FASB, SEC, and PCAOB accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a focus in Accounting or Financial Accounting.
• At least one year of practical general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience in a public accounting and/or corporate accounting environment is preferred within the required accounting experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting.
