Maintenance Technical Writer (Manufacturing)

Location: Richmond, United States. Hybrid work model with the option to work from home up to two days per week; the workplace is the specified office, store, or factory.

Salary: $36.00–$36.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Create, edit, translate, maintain, and improve Standard Work and training documentation.
• Partner with Process Owners, Global Job Trainers, and subject matter experts to keep documentation accurate and current.
• Maintain training plans, skill matrices, and training records to support employee training programs.
• Manage documentation in company systems, including version control and compliance.
• Participate in Lean activities, process improvements, continuous improvement initiatives, and new process implementation.
• Track training metrics, support audits, and collaborate with global teams to standardize processes and share best practices.

Requirements

• Experience creating or managing technical documentation in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Strong written communication and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting training programs, documentation management, or process improvement initiatives.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training as needed.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
