Cybersecurity Operations Controller - DoD

Location: On-site at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Remote/telework is not available. Day shift with 24/7 mission support during shift-based operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. No relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and directly related certifications.

What you will do

• Coordinate operational security activities, monitoring, change management, and day-to-day cybersecurity operations.
• Monitor enterprise system health, availability, and performance using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Coordinate real-time responses to outages, incidents, and service degradations, including escalation and resolution.
• Lead incident and problem management, root cause analysis, remediation, and tracking of authorized and unauthorized service interruptions.
• Maintain operational documentation, daily activity logs, cybersecurity registers, and operational reports.
• Interface with system administrators, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, government stakeholders, and senior leadership while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 6 or more years of general full-time work experience; this requirement may be reduced with advanced education.
• 4 or more years of directly related experience in IT operations management, network control center, or enterprise operations center roles.
• At least 6 months of management or leadership experience.
• IT operational management experience across multiple enterprise environments, including DoD and commercial environments.
• Active DoW Secret security clearance.
• Deep understanding of the ITIL framework and best practices, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service release management.
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, Netcool, and HP OpenView.
• At least one 8570- or 8410-compliant certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or information technology.
• Experience in MDA or DoD IT operations.
• Project management experience.
• ITIL Strategic Leader certification.
• ITIL certification, such as ITIL 4 Foundation or ITIL 4 Managing Professional.
• Relevant technical certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate.
