Senior AI Applied Software Engineer (Android)

Location: Hybrid work combining remote work with the Kraków office.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and maintain complex Android mobile applications, frameworks, libraries, SDKs, and digital banking capabilities.
• Lead product features across discovery, technical design, implementation, release, observability, adoption, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Use AI coding agents and automated workflows across Android, iOS, APIs, services, and CI/CD while defining constraints, evaluating results, and verifying generated output.
• Design maintainable architectures and APIs while balancing performance, accessibility, security, privacy, resilience, scalability, and cost.
• Improve modularisation, build systems, CI/CD pipelines, release automation, developer tooling, testing, static analysis, observability, and documentation.
• Lead technical discussions, code reviews, root-cause investigations, incident learning, refactoring, mentoring, and collaboration with product, design, architecture, security, and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of professional software engineering experience building complex products and operating effectively at senior level.
• Deep production expertise in a native mobile ecosystem, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK and Jetpack libraries, Coroutines and Flow, Gradle, and the Android build and release lifecycle.
• Experience designing scalable mobile architectures using MVI, MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, or equivalent approaches.
• Experience building modular applications, reusable libraries, frameworks, or SDKs with stable, well-designed APIs.
• Strong experience with automated testing, debugging, profiling, CI/CD, release automation, and mobile non-functional requirements.
• Hands-on production experience using AI coding assistants or agents and demonstrating improved delivery outcomes beyond code generation.
• Understanding of agentic development risks, including incorrect output, missing context, insecure code, dependency risk, privacy, and over-automation, with appropriate verification and human review.
• Ability to work across both mobile platforms and adjacent systems; deep expertise in one platform with evidence of effective cross-platform contribution is sufficient.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into testable technical plans, anticipate cross-system impacts, communicate trade-offs, take ownership of outcomes, and balance rapid delivery with long-term platform health.
• Effective English communication and ability to work in an international, multidisciplinary environment.

Nice to have

• Strong production experience in both native iOS and native Android.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, Compose Multiplatform, or another cross-platform mobile technology.
• Experience building AI-enabled product capabilities using model APIs, retrieval, evaluation datasets, guardrails, observability, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Experience with mobile security, accessibility, performance optimisation, SDK development, or enterprise application distribution.
• Experience in banking, fintech, or another regulated environment.
• Experience with cloud services, backend APIs, web applications, or data pipelines supporting mobile products.
