Director, AI and Digital Enablement (AI)

Location: Aurora, Illinois, United States; MS site preferred, but location is flexible. Ability to travel 25–50% is required.

Salary: $185,000–$250,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Own the division’s digital and AI/ML strategy, including the roadmap, priorities, standards, and operational delivery model.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact AI, digital, and machine learning use cases; develop business cases and ROI models for investments.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of predictive models, automation, agents, and copilots embedded in daily operations.
• Establish AI governance and responsible-AI practices covering data quality, security, model validation, and ethical use.
• Partner with IT and data teams on scalable data infrastructure, pipelines, tooling, and production readiness.
• Build AI talent, improve AI fluency, drive adoption and change management, define KPIs, and collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Finance, IT, Manufacturing, Legal, and Supply Chain.

Requirements

• Proven ability to develop and execute a digital and AI strategy from vision through operational delivery.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI and machine learning solutions, including ML models, generative AI, agents, copilots, and intelligent automation; fluency with modern AI tooling and platforms.
• Experience in advanced manufacturing or technology industries is required.
• Leadership, communication, listening, prioritization, influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to lead complex initiatives in ambiguous environments.
• Understanding of P&L, risk assessment, decision-making, and ROI modeling for technology and digital investments.
• Track record of driving adoption of new tools, processes, and ways of working.
• Proficiency in data analytics, Python or an equivalent programming language, ML frameworks, cloud and AI platforms, advanced Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency to advanced knowledge of Power BI and dashboard development or automation is a plus.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Ability to travel 25–50%.

Nice to have

• Experience with MS businesses.
• Experience with agent platforms and Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI Agent Builder.
• Experience in semiconductor, advanced materials, manufacturing, or global supply chain environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure AI/Copilot, SAP, and ServiceNow.
• Advanced degree, relevant product management, AI/ML, or cloud certifications, and experience with Agile and modern product operating models.
