Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

hirify.global develops commercially scalable and safe hirify.global robots, including the HMND-01 platform for industrial environments.

What you will do

• Own the development, integration, testing, deployment, and operation of hirify.global’s existing cloud data platform.
• Lead external contractors by defining work packages, priorities, technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery standards.
• Gather requirements from internal engineering teams, maintain the backlog, communicate tradeoffs and progress, and raise risks and decisions.
• Build and operate compute, storage, networking, and environments through infrastructure as code, with attention to security, reliability, performance, and cost.
• Develop backend services, APIs, integrations, frontend interfaces, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, deployment processes, environment configuration, and developer tooling.
• Develop data ingestion, processing, storage, and access pipelines; maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, rollback, backup, recovery, access control, documentation, and operational knowledge.

Requirements

• Experience building, deploying, and operating production software on a major cloud platform.
• Strong practical knowledge of infrastructure as code, containers, Linux, networking, identity and access management, and CI/CD.
• Solid software engineering skills across backend services, APIs, databases, frontend, and backend code.
• Experience with data pipelines, object storage, relational databases, and reliable processing of large datasets.
• Evidence of taking ownership of an existing platform, including understanding unfamiliar code, diagnosing problems, and delivering improvements safely.
• Experience leading external developers or contractors, including scoping work, reviewing implementation, and maintaining clear quality standards.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn incomplete requirements into actionable technical work.
• Sound judgment about what to build directly, what to delegate, and when to involve internal engineering specialists.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, machine learning infrastructure, sensor data, or internal data platforms.
• Particular depth in infrastructure or platform engineering with effective delivery across the wider software stack.
