eReader Quality Assurance Intern (QA, eReader)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid with 3 days per week at the Toronto office

What you will do

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing on eReader software and devices.
• Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans for new and existing features.
• Document, track, reproduce, and verify software defects and bug fixes.
• Collaborate with QA Engineers, Software Developers, Product Managers, and other cross-functional partners to investigate issues and assess release risks.
• Maintain the test lab, device inventories, software builds, tools, and supporting equipment.
• Prepare and configure devices, collect diagnostic logs, troubleshoot issues, and improve testing documentation and processes.

Requirements

• Enrollment in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical program.
• Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python.
• Basic understanding of software development and testing concepts.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Experience using common productivity and collaboration tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for technology and software quality; curiosity, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Interest in software testing, quality engineering, software development, or technical operations, including troubleshooting systems and devices.

Nice to have

• Exposure to software testing through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, or other software development tools.
• Experience with Linux, command-line tools, or scripting.
• Exposure to mobile, embedded, or consumer electronics devices.
• Interest in automation, continuous integration, or test infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, or networking issues.
