Описание вакансии

TL;DR
Ground Systems Engineering Intern (Aerospace): Providing instrumentation, controls, and automation for the Archimedes engine and designing test stands for the Neutron program with an accent on hardware integration and data acquisition. Focus on applying engineering principles to support rocket engine testing in a hands-on environment.
🚨 Rocket Lab is hiring an intern to work on the test stands for the engine that flies Neutron.

Ground Systems Engineering Intern, Summer 2027. Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, on-site. 12 weeks minimum starting May or June. It went up yesterday.

You'd be on the Test Ground Systems team, providing instrumentation, controls and automation for the Archimedes engine, and helping design and build new test stands for the Neutron program.

That's the hardware that holds a rocket engine while it fires and captures every piece of data coming off it.

Now here's the part that stops people from applying, and it shouldn't.

Scroll the nice to have list and you hit finite element analysis, CAD/CAM, lathe machining, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, pressurized systems, fluid dynamics, Python and C++. Most students read that and close the tab.

Those are the nice to haves. The actual requirements:

→ Enrolled in an engineering or physics degree, with Electrical, Mechatronics and Robotics named specifically
→ GPA of 3.0 or above
→ At least one semester of school left after the internship
→ Three months of applied engineering experience

Read that last one carefully, because Rocket Lab defines it for you. Internship, laboratory, or personal and team project experience all count.

That means your robotics club. Your senior project. The thing you built in a lab last spring. Three months of that clears the bar, and you don't need a prior internship to apply.

One gate to know about. This role is ITAR controlled, so you need to be a US citizen, green card holder, or admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.

One perk worth noting too. Rocket Lab says you may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation, which matters when the job is in Mississippi.

Apply early and a person reads you. Apply late and a filter processes you.

I found this on Runway. Why I use it:

✅ Listings pulled straight from company career pages within the hour of posting
✅ Resume feedback before you apply, not after you're rejected
✅ Interview prep built from the actual role

💬 What's the project you'd put down as your three months?
