Engineering Intern Summer 2027 (Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite for a 10–12-week summer internship. Relocation eligible to the local area in Mojave, CA; living accommodations are provided in the Antelope Valley.

Salary: $33.00/hour for Technical Interns in years 1–2 and $38.00/hour in years 3–4.

What you will do

• Support the design, analysis, integration, and testing of Carrier Aircraft or Talon vehicles.
• Develop engineering tools and use engineering fundamentals or analysis software to evaluate designs.
• Interface with manufacturing to build or test components.
• Coordinate within and between engineering teams to clarify requirements, communicate progress, and resolve issues.
• Write and execute test plans as needed.
• Work with integrity, responsibility, initiative, and commitment to assigned duties.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Software, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Materials, or Network Engineering.
• Sophomore, junior, or senior student who will be attending graduate school in an engineering degree program.
• Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks according to business goals, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to ask questions.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Hands-on engineering experience through internships, school projects, or teams.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet the knowledge, skill, and ability requirements of the position.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3D computer-aided design software tools.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, Octave, or other computing software tools.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
