Gen AI Engineer

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid working model with some days remote and some days onsite.

What you will do

• Design reasoning and planning loops, short- and long-term memory, and context management for individual and collaborative multi-agent systems.
• Integrate LLMs with APIs, microservices, and vector databases, and orchestrate agentic systems using MCP and A2A.
• Build and optimize advanced RAG pipelines that ground agent responses in relevant knowledge.
• Define agent evaluation metrics and implement tracing, debugging, and production monitoring.
• Implement security filters, access controls, data leakage prevention, and prompt-injection mitigation.
• Build MCP-based tools that extend agentic system capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years of AI engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating production-grade distributed systems, APIs, or cloud applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLM applications.
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Spanish proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, engineering best practices, and design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, microservices, distributed systems, security, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, proactive attitude, communication, technical discussion, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing production applications.
• Knowledge of RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector search, reranking, response grounding, and evaluation.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Knowledge of agent integration and interaction protocols, including MCP, A2A, AG-UI, and A2UI.
• High level of English.
