Finance Manager (Technical Accounting)

Location: Singapore; hybrid position with office attendance determined by the Hiring Manager.

What you will do

• Provide technical accounting advice under U.S. GAAP and review complex contracts, commercial arrangements, new products, and strategic initiatives.
• Assess transaction economics, obligations, performance requirements, timing, control of value transfer, and appropriate accounting treatment.
• Prepare technical accounting memoranda and position papers, and present conclusions to senior management, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Partner with Business, Legal, Procurement, Product, Marketing, FP&A, and Business Development teams to identify accounting, reporting, control, and operational implications.
• Use AI and GenAI tools to accelerate accounting research, contract analysis, issue identification, and technical documentation with appropriate review and controls.
• Develop decision trees, playbooks, templates, assessment frameworks, automation workflows, and scalable digital solutions for technical accounting advisory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, plus CPA, CA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including mandatory experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm.
• Experience in a large U.S. GAAP multinational or publicly traded company operating in a complex global environment.
• Deep technical proficiency in U.S. GAAP and strong working knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience reviewing contracts and complex commercial arrangements and preparing defensible technical accounting conclusions and position papers.
• Experience engaging effectively with external auditors and senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen, including understanding deal economics, business objectives, contractual rights and obligations, and operational mechanics.
• Experience in technical accounting, accounting policy, financial reporting, controllership, transaction advisory, deal review, or commercial accounting advisory.
• Ability to lead assessments independently from fact-finding through conclusion and implementation, communicate complex accounting clearly, apply professional skepticism, and make sound decisions in ambiguous stakeholder environments.
