Fintech Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid schedule with the freedom to work from home two days a week.

What you will do

• Identify opportunities to reduce fraud losses and improve profitability using risk rules and machine learning.
• Design, roll out, monitor, and continuously improve end-to-end fraud prevention controls.
• Set up, monitor, and analyze A/B tests evaluating fraud prevention controls.
• Use SQL, Python, Looker, and BigQuery to analyze risk, identify fraud patterns, and monitor key metrics.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and local teams on fraud controls, machine learning features, model validation, and performance drift.
• Maintain fraud escalation processes and develop executive dashboards covering fraud OKRs, financial exposure, and compliance metrics.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, fintech, or analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SQL; familiarity with Python or other analytical tools.
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar.
• Theoretical understanding of precision versus recall and A/B testing principles.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills, including presenting insights to technical and business audiences.
• Curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, and desire to learn and grow within risk and fintech.
• Proficiency in English.
