Project Engineer II - Protection (Electrical Engineering)

Location: San Luis Potosi, Mexico; full-time, onsite role. Requires domestic and international travel of at least 25% based on the focus area.

What you will do

• Apply knowledge of electric power system protection and related products to complete complex engineering assignments.
• Lead customer training and assistance with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.
• Assign, complete, and implement work within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Assist with preparing and presenting proposals for equipment, services, and systems.
• Mentor and develop professional staff and supervise when necessary.
• Apply organizational values, operating principles, and manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and protection focus-area practices and philosophies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation, and communications applications.
• Proven knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check results and negative drug test results.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% based on the focus area.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or equivalent certification.
• Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
• Project management experience.
• Working knowledge of Vision or another project management tracking system.
