Financial Controller (Fintech)

hirify.global is a pre-Series A technology startup building hirify.global Connect, a privacy-first digital identity platform that verifies people across borders through a single API for fintech, credentials, supply chain, gaming, IDV, e-signature, and enterprise use cases.

What you will do

• Own bookkeeping, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reimbursements, payroll coordination, banking, cash management, and financial visibility reporting.
• Handle Korean accounting, tax, statutory filings, regulatory reporting, and coordination with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and payroll providers.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, multi-currency accounting, and financial reporting across international entities.
• Establish practical financial controls, simplify workflows, and automate processes where appropriate.
• Collaborate across functions and geographies, communicate financial information clearly, and support business decisions with cash flow reporting and analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3–5 years with full responsibility for an accounting function.
• Proven ability to independently manage accounting end to end.
• Strong technical accounting expertise covering financial statements, reconciliations, month-end close, and statutory reporting.
• Deep knowledge of Korean accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with international accounting, multiple legal entities, intercompany transactions, and foreign currencies.
• Fluency in Korean and English, with clear, proactive, and constructive communication across functions, cultures, and time zones.
• Collaborative problem-solving skills, strong judgment, integrity, attention to detail, accountability, and a practical approach.
• Ability to distinguish essential requirements from unnecessary complexity and implement solutions suitable for a lean startup.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable performing both senior-level accounting work and routine transactional tasks.

Nice to have

• Korean CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Experience with IFRS and consolidated financial reporting.
• Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and automation.
• Startup experience.
