Engineer III - MacOS Sensor (Remote)

Location: USA - Remote

Base salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year for U.S. candidates, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Design and build detection logic and systems used to identify cyber attackers and prevent breaches.
• Research malicious activity detection techniques, including reverse engineering and big-data analysis.
• Own features from concept and design through implementation, release, and post-release support.
• Extend the endpoint sensor codebase using Swift, C++, Python, and appropriate tools and domain-specific languages.
• Apply secure coding, testing, debugging, performance, code review, CI/CD, and OS-internals practices to deliver fast, reliable sensor code.
• Collaborate across functions and geographies and troubleshoot product issues reported by customers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in either reverse engineering, threat detection, and malware analysis with familiarity with on-device development, or designing, building, and delivering high-quality software in Swift, C/C++, or Objective-C with familiarity or proven interest in security.
• Solid knowledge of macOS internals, including processes, storage, networking, memory management, relevant components, APIs, and frameworks.
• Ability to develop high-quality Swift and/or C/C++ code for high concurrency, multithreading, reliability, performance, memory usage, operating efficiency, and standards conformance.
• Ability to deliver enterprise software involving CI, testing, debugging, performance tracing, release management, big-data telemetry analysis, and issue handling.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team and clearly articulate designs to peers and upper management.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Familiarity or experience with macOS security frameworks and events such as Endpoint Security and Network Extension, as well as recent macOS APIs, SDKs, and OS developments.
• Prior security experience, particularly in endpoint threat detection or sensor development on macOS or other operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
• Familiarity with AI and recent developments in the macOS threat landscape.
• Experience developing and delivering 24/7 enterprise endpoint software.
• Experience with Python and scripting for research, tooling, and automation.
