Director, Construction Management, ANS (Rail Transit)

Location: Washington, DC / Alexandria, VA / Arlington, VA; hybrid work with a mix of remote work, onsite client work, and work in an Accenture office or center.

What you will do

• Provide executive leadership across pre-construction, procurement support, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Oversee multiple design-build and alternative delivery contracts, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead contract administration, change management, claims avoidance and resolution, risk management, and compliance.
• Direct multidisciplinary construction management, design support, quality, safety, environmental, and stakeholder teams.
• Coordinate permitting, utility relocations, traffic control, community impacts, and local and regulatory stakeholders.
• Establish governance, project controls, reporting, performance metrics, and executive-level briefings consistent with rail standards and FTA/FRA requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience managing and delivering major rail and transit infrastructure projects of comparable size and complexity, preferably within the NYC metro area.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; New York license strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
• Experience with large-scale transit projects, MTA, NJT, Amtrak, or similar urban and rail transit systems, including familiarity with MTA policies and delivery frameworks.
• Local knowledge of NY/NJ communities and stakeholder environments, including public works, utilities, permitting authorities, and municipalities.
• Experience delivering projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining safety and quality.
• Experience with Design-Build, CM/GC, P3, and other alternative delivery methods, including risk allocation and contract structures.
• Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, means and methods, engineering coordination, claims management, dispute resolution, and concurrent construction contracts.
• Experience with federal funding programs, compliance, reporting, and funding requirements.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, executive presentation, technical reporting, and formal correspondence skills.
