Associate Director Portfolio AI Activation (Commercial Analytics)

Location: Hybrid; primary location is Rahway, New Jersey, United States. The posting is for residents of the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Salary: $156,900–$247,000 annual base salary for the primary location, plus potential annual bonus and long-term incentive.

What you will do

• Lead advanced analytics and data science projects addressing brand, marketing, healthcare professional targeting, customer segmentation, tiering, and promotional response questions.
• Support launch readiness through market and patient opportunity sizing, healthcare professional universe definition, targeting, and early launch performance tracking.
• Develop and apply predictive, propensity, clustering, response, forecasting, and causal inference models using pharmaceutical commercial data.
• Translate analytical outputs into decision-ready insights and recommendations for brand leadership, marketing, and field teams.
• Partner with brand, marketing, Market Engagement, sales planning, data, and technology teams to define business questions, success metrics, and initiative impact.
• Identify and pilot AI use cases, ensure privacy and governance compliance, and build analytics and AI literacy across commercial teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare commercial analytics, marketing analytics, or data science, with a proven record supporting brand and marketing teams.
• Strong expertise in machine learning and statistics applied to commercial questions, including healthcare professional targeting, segmentation, predictive modeling, and promotional impact measurement.
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial data, including claims, prescription and sales, CRM, healthcare professional- and patient-level data, and the commercial model covering brand, launch, market access, and field force.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or R, plus data and analytics platforms such as Databricks or Dataiku.
• Hands-on experience applying AI, including generative AI or LLM-based tools, to analytics workflows.
• Ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations that influence senior leaders and align cross-functional stakeholders on priorities.
• People and/or matrix leadership experience, including leading cross-functional teams, global collaborators, and external partners.
• Strong project management skills, resilience, adaptability, strategic judgment, and operational execution.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Decision Science, Engineering, Public Health, or a related quantitative discipline.
