Cyber Security Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Exclusively onsite at a client location in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The applicant must reside in the Ottawa area and be a Canadian citizen with 10 years of verifiable history on Canadian soil for Canadian government security clearance.

Salary: CAD 92,100–142,100 per year.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Implement and support monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Automate operational tasks and infrastructure management through scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Support CI/CD processes, deployment automation, incident response, capacity planning, and problem management.
• Assist with Zero Trust, secure access, system performance reviews, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience as a Cyber Security Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Systems Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Canadian citizenship and 10 years of verifiable history on Canadian soil, required for Canadian government security clearance.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, and switching.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Terragrunt, Ansible, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing automation with Python, Go, Java, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms and supporting large-scale production environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and independent-working skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Zero Trust architectures and secure access technologies.
