Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Electrical Controls)

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and enhance electrical and electronic systems for industrial machinery.
• Prepare electrical drawings and documentation, including circuit diagrams, wire lists, parts lists, operating sequences, manuals, and technical descriptions.
• Select components, resolve electrical design challenges, and develop bills of materials for integration and use in SAP.
• Support UI and HMI development and program and integrate machine control systems.
• Build electrical control cabinets, wire machinery, and design and construct test stands for prototype development and system testing.
• Update legacy machine control systems to meet current engineering, regulatory, and safety standards while collaborating with Engineering, Production, Service, Quality, customers, suppliers, and affiliated engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• At least three years of practical and theoretical experience with electrical and electronic components and industrial machinery development.
• Knowledge of industrial programming and control platforms, including Siemens, Beckhoff, and AMK.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with general direction and exercise sound technical judgment.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and affiliated engineering teams.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.

Nice to have

• Experience with ELCAD.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
