Director of Operations (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop and execute the multi-site manufacturing operations strategy aligned with business goals, growth plans, and customer demand.
• Standardize operating systems, KPIs, daily management, accountability meetings, processes, work instructions, and ERP/MES usage across all plants.
• Own operating and capital budgets and P&L accountability while driving productivity, throughput, cost reduction, margin improvement, quality, and delivery performance.
• Lead capacity planning, footprint strategy, capital investments, automation, process improvement, and cost-saving projects with measurable ROI.
• Manage and develop Plant Managers and Site Leaders, build succession plans, and partner with HR on workforce planning, talent, labor relations, compensation, and organizational design.
• Ensure EHS, OSHA, environmental, labor, trade/export, ISO 9001, and customer quality compliance while reporting performance and recommendations to senior leadership and the board.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, business administration, or a related field is required.
• At least 10 years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience, including at least 5 years leading multiple sites or a multi-plant network.
• Proven experience managing P&L, capital budgets, operational KPIs, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis across geographically dispersed facilities.
• Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or comparable continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong experience with ERP/MES systems and data-driven decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through others, build high-performing teams, manage change, and make decisions in a fast-paced, multi-site manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, quality systems such as ISO 9001, and applicable labor and trade/export regulations.
• Executive-level communication and presentation skills, including the ability to influence senior leadership and the board.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly, up to 40–50%, between facilities, including international travel as applicable.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced degree.
• Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience in electronics, cable/connector, or precision component manufacturing.
