Director, Power Generation

What you will do

• Develop and lead the power generation strategy covering baseload and bridging generation solutions for data center campuses.
• Select generation technologies and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver customer and company requirements.
• Lead commercial negotiations for power purchase agreements, energy-as-a-service arrangements, fuel supply, and infrastructure contracts.
• Manage power generation projects with Location and Power Strategy, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Environmental teams.
• Develop fuel supply infrastructure and secure natural gas supply through utilities, interstate pipelines, and energy market advisors.
• Analyze prospective sites, fuel infrastructure, grid conditions, generation viability, and short- and long-term fuel capacity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with power generation and/or energy supply management, including natural gas and power.
• Experience with complex commercial energy contract negotiations.
• Experience negotiating natural gas utility or pipeline extension and connection agreements.
• Financial or energy engineering experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal staff, utility providers, consultants, and external stakeholders.
• Experience communicating commercial, regulatory, market, technical, and contractual details to all organizational levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of the transmission and distribution grid and the ability to analyze its supply.
