Principal Scientist, Clinical Research, Thoracic Oncology

Location: Hybrid; primary location is Rahway, New Jersey, United States. The role is available to residents of the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Salary: $255,800–$402,700 annual base salary, plus potential annual bonus and long-term incentive.

What you will do

• Plan and oversee clinical research activities for investigational and marketed oncology medicines across pre-clinical, clinical, and post-licensure development.
• Evaluate pre-clinical and translational research to develop early clinical plans and Investigational New Drug applications.
• Develop clinical development strategies and plan clinical trials, including study design, operational plans, and settings.
• Monitor and manage ongoing and new clinical trials, including daily medical monitoring with Clinical Scientists.
• Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety and efficacy decisions, regulatory submissions, clinical study reports, and publications.
• Collaborate with regulatory affairs, statistics, commercialization, manufacturing, internal research teams, external investigators, and senior leadership.

Requirements

• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
• Experience in industry or academia.
• Demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement.
• Proven track record in clinical medicine and a background in biomedical research.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team environment.
• Required skills include cancer research, clinical development, clinical research, clinical studies, clinical trials, medical monitoring, and oncology.

Nice to have

• Board certification or eligibility in oncology and/or hematology.
• Prior specific experience in clinical research.
• Prior publication experience.
