Senior Underwriter – Construction

What you will do

• Underwrite construction insurance risks in line with the Business Plan and personal authority.
• Manage relationships with customers, brokers, colleagues, large contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Develop strategic relationships and support business objectives.
• Maintain compliance with insurance strategy, underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices.
• Monitor market dynamics and apply market cycle awareness to underwriting decisions.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviours and help motivate and develop the team.

Requirements

• Construction underwriting experience, including managing relationships with large contractors and significant construction projects.
• Thorough understanding of the London market.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to analyse and interpret data.
• Intermediate understanding of relevant software, including Excel and other departmental software packages.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Right to work in the UK.
