Technical Analyst (MS Access DB SME)

Location: Hybrid in Reston, Virginia, with onsite visits to the Reston or Washington, DC office 1–2 times per month; final-round interview onsite in Reston, Virginia. Must reside in the Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia area.

hirify.global is hiring for a technical data architecture modernization engagement involving a legacy enterprise database.

What you will do

• Assess and reverse-engineer the homegrown MS Access database, including its structure, queries, macros, backend logic, and limitations.
• Evaluate modern database technologies and recommend the future-state platform to replace MS Access.
• Map data dependencies and preserve or improve live integrations with SAP Ariba and Oracle databases.
• Develop technical milestones, project roadmaps, and transition plans with change managers and executive stakeholders.
• Write advanced SQL queries to analyze data structures, validate data integrity, and support future migrations.
• Design future-state infrastructure to improve enterprise reporting capabilities while avoiding business disruption.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Access database navigation, design, backend logic, and limitations.
• Proven experience working with data flowing from SAP Ariba.
• Strong hands-on SQL querying skills for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing complex datasets.
• Ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders, define project roadmaps, and track technical milestones.
• Must reside in the Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia area to attend the Reston or Washington, DC office 1–2 times per month.

Nice to have

• Oracle Database experience; a diverse enterprise technology stack may substitute for Oracle.
• ServiceNow experience, particularly during an enterprise implementation.
• Previous experience in the healthcare payor industry.
• PMP background or strong project-tracking and milestone-management experience.
